The City has been aggressively recruiting police officers with a goal to increase the number of officers to 2,300. Efforts to increase applicants have included moving to an online application process, increasing lateral recruitment in nearby cities and increasing the number of police academies held each year. Additionally, for high school graduates interested in a law enforcement career, the Blue Path program lets students pursue an associate degree in criminal justice while working as a Police Service Technician (PST).
