Answer 311 Calls Within 35 Seconds

The 311 Call Center is the primary channel of communication for Memphians who wish to request city services. We aim for you to be able to communicate service requests quickly and easily, and a high-functioning service center is key to getting that done. The 311 Call Center recently adjusted the schedules for full and part-time call-takers to better respond to the flow of peak hour calls, and we are monitoring the results of those efforts. In addition, we are implementing callback technology that will give callers the option to leave a message instead of waiting on hold past a certain period of time.
311 Call Answer Time
Call time is measured from when the automated system directs the caller to an operator. Call volume for 311 is seasonal. As you can see in the chart to the right, the 311 Call Center receives twice as many calls in the summer months as in the winter, which impacts the call answer time.
